London – Oxford – Gloucester – Midlands – York – Northumbria – Edinburgh

Day 1 We arrange overnight flight to London, in "Bonny Olde England".

Day 2 Arrive London, meet our friendly Tour Director and transfer to our hotel. Overnight London.

Day 3 We have a full day in London to view several of the London locations used in the film "Harry Potter" ©, including "Gringotts Bank", "Platform 9 ¾ ", "Diagon Alley" and "The Leaky Cauldron". We also include a visit to Madame Tussauds and The British Museum. The British Museum has an amazing collection of artifacts from around the world. The Egyptian display includes the Rosetta Stone, discovered by Napoleon in his conquest of Egypt. We overnight in our centrally located London hotel.

Day 4 Leaving London we head South to Berkshire for a visit to "Hagrid’s House" and then on to the location of the "Dursleys Home". We continue west today to the famous university town of Oxford and we include a visit to Christchurch College which was used as part of "Hogwarts School". Overnight Oxford.

Day 5 Leaving Oxford we arrive in the county of Wiltshire and we will visit Lacock Abbey, where the first ever photographs were taken, it was also used as part of "Hogwarts School". We travel on to Gloucester to view the Cathedral, which was also used as part of "Hogwarts". Visit the Robert Opie Museum which is a fascinating insight in to the world of advertising. Overnight Gloucester area.

Day 6 This morning we will cross the border in to Wales for a glorious drive up the Wye Valley and pause at Wordsworth’s Tintern Abbey before passing The Malvern Hills. Our motor coach continues to The Severn Valley Railway where we can have a ride on the bright red engine Taw Valley which has been used as "The Hogwarts Express". Note the street and shop signs in Wales written in a strange language. Overnight in The Midlands.

Day 7 Moving North call in to the village of Pendle, well known for its history of witchcraft with the 12 Pendle Hill witches hung in 1612. Continue to the medieval city of York. We enter the famous York Minster and walk around "The Shambles." In the evening we are taken by a local guide on a "Ghost Walk " of this 2000-year old city. Overnight York. Groups wishing an 8 or 9 day tour will travel south to London for one or two nights and depart from London. Groups seeking a 10 or l1 day tour will continue north into Scotland.

Day 8 Into the North York Moors National Park today for a ride on a steam train departing from what was used as "Hogsmeade Station". Next we will call in to visit the beautiful city of Durham and visit the cathedral used for one of the "spook owl sequences" and we will end today in the grounds of Alnwick Castle, which was where the "Quidditch" match was filmed. Overnight Northumbria.

Day 9 A short journey brings us to Bamburgh Castle with its dramatic location over looking the North Sea before we pass Lindisfarne and over the Scottish Border to one of the strangest construction projects in history. Many think that Hadrian’s Wall was built by the Scots to keep out the Romans who had conquered most of Britain. Actually it was built by the Romans to protect themselves from the Scots! Continue to Edinburgh.

Day 10 After a hearty Scottish breakfast our sightseeing tour will take us in to Edinburgh Castle (don’t miss the dog cemetery) and Holyrood Palace. We will of course pause at Nicholson’s Café where JK Rowling created "Harry Potter". See the mystery of the Magic Eye and finish our tour with a walk into the grizzly past of Edinburgh on a ghost walk. Overnight Edinburgh.

Day 11 Transfer to Edinburgh for the return flight home
