1 Overnight flight from your gateway. Flights may be
via Canada, Seoul, Tokyo or Hong Kong.
Day 2
Upon arrival to Beijing we are transferred to our 3 star Hotel. Thus begins our
incredible adventure into the largest populated society on earth. As china
modernizes she can only become more prevalent in world affairs and we will learn
first-hand of her people to better understand our own futures.
Day 3
Beijing. Today we tour Tian en Men Square the largest in the world. Afterwards,
we visit the Palace Museum. Built from 1406 to 1420 it was the imperial palace
of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and was home to 24 emperors. The Temple of Heaven
is where emperors worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests. Being immersed
in this great ancient culture will fill you with awe and wonder
Day 4 Great
Wall. After breakfast our tour continues to the magnificent Great Wall of China.
Stretching 4,000 miles it shielded Chinese Emperors from invasion for centuries.
It took 2,000 years to build and is visible to the astronauts from space. Our
odyssey then continues to the Ancient Ming Tombs, 40 kilometers northwest of
Beijing. Construction started in the 15th century on the tombs where
13 Ming Emperors are buried. Return to Beijing where we are treated to an
acrobatic show and dinner.
Day 5
Beijing. Three quarters of the 290 hectare area that encompasses the Summer
Palace is a lake surface. A visit to the beautiful Summer Palace in the morning
is followed by lunch and a visit to the Beijing's own Hard Rock Café. The
evening is ours to stroll Beijing, capital city of the world's most populous
country. Our future will be more and more entwined with the Chinese.
Day 6
After breakfast we tour a Chinese Silk Market as well as have time for shopping
nearby. Enjoy lunch and then visit a Chinese Middle School where we meet and
mingle with local students. What will you talk about?. Perhaps you will meet a
new pen-pal or make a life-long friend.
Day 7
A memorable last day will had by all. First visit a Cloisonne carpet factory to
watch craftsmen at their trade. After a sumptuous lunch we have the time to go
bargain hunting, visiting areas like the Wang Fu Jing shopping district. Feel
free to walk the streets to seek out the true China. Its sounds and sights will
be forever tattooed into our memories.
Day 8
Depart to Beijing Airport for the flight home. Good thing we brought many rolls
of film.
We can arrange a three-day Yangtze River
cruise that cruises through serene and stunning vistas of this great river.
Sailings are typically from Chongqing to Yichan, continuing by motor coach to
Wuhan (North of Guilin). We can arrange a trip to Hong Kong or to Xian, China to
see the incredible Terra Cotta Warriors.
