Edmonton – Yellowknife – Inuvik – Tuktoyaktuk – Dawson City – Whitehorse Day 1 Arrive in the beautiful prairie city of Edmonton Alberta, Canada. We are greeted at the airport and transfer to the largest city in Alberta and gateway to the north.Day 2 Enjoy breakfast in the capital of Alberta and visit the largest shopping mall in the world, West Edmonton Mall. You won’t believe your own eyes. Downtown tour of the city is included including the legislature. Dinner on lively Whyte Avenue is included this evening or we can arrange a comedy theater night out that is suitable for all ages.Day 3 After breakfast we depart for Yellowknife, in the Northwest Territories. A city of great contrast, Yellowknife is home to jets and dog-sleds, limousines and snowmobiles, log houses and luxurious hotels. Our local guide meets us at the airport and transfers us to hotel.Day 4 Enjoy a hearty breakfast. Explore the town in the morning and depart across the Arctic Circle by air for Inuvik. Not far from the Beaufort Sea, Inuvik is located on the McKenzie River. If you expect cold weather think again as summer is warm and 24 hours of sunshine per day is a surreal and unique experience.Day 5 Breakfast and departure for Tuktoyaktuk. Small town with a big name. We’ll have the chance to dip our toes into the Arctic ocean. Our local guide will tell us about life in the high arctic and treat us to local cuisine.Day 6 Head south to the goldrush mecca of Dawson City. This Klondike Goldrush city was hailed as the Paris of the North when its population climaxed at 30,000. It is a national historic sight and we will see the Commissioners Residence and the Palace Grand Theater which was built from two dismantled steamboats. We enjoy dinner and then drive to the top of the Dome for panoramic views.Day 7 Today we pan for gold! Visit "Guggieville" or "claim 33" on bonanza Creek and try your luck. See the Discovery Claim and the largest wooden hull dredge in the world. After our tour of the monstrous site we return to town for our last overnight here.Day 8 Enjoy breakfast our deluxe motor coach delivers us past the Minto Landing and Carmac historic sights, and the Five Finger Rapids. Arrive in the capital of Whitehorse, lying on the west bank of the Yukon River. Our group is treated to the "Frantic Follies" this evening.From here we can fly home via
Edmonton Day 9 We tour Miles Canyon and see the SS Klondike, which was the last paddlewheeler to ply the waters between Whitehorse and Dawson City. Drive the Alaska Highway and learn of the reason it was built. We overnight in the "Sign Post Forest" town of Watson Lake. Bring a sign from home to put with the thousands of others that have been left here by people from all over the world.Day 10 Enjoy another hearty breakfast and head south until we stop at the Liard Hot Springs for a dip in the soothing waters. Magnificent mountain vistas are displayed before us as we motor past Muncho Lake, cross over Steamboat Mountain to arrive in Fort Nelson, British Columbia.Day 11 We find ourselves crossing over Pink Mountain arriving in Dawson Creek. Here we stop for a photograph of our group and the famed "Mile 0" of the Alaska Highway. Later we enter Grand Prairie and overnight.Day 12 We transfer by air from Grand Prairie to Edmonton for our connecting flights home.We can arrange a tour that visits
