The City of Lights The Affordable Paris Tour 7 Day Tour That Visits the Highlights of Amazing Paris Paris was born some 2,000 years ago on the Isle de la Cite (Isle of the City). Discover what this amazing city has to offer. Day 1 Overnight flight from your gateway to Charles De Gaulle Airport. Day 2 Arrive and transfer by motorcoach or RER rail to central Paris hotel. We enjoy a short city tour and the remainder of afternoon is free to explore. Our tour guide will advise on restaurants that are closeby, traveler safety precautions, the central underground transportation systems (RER and the Metro) and currency exchange etc. Day 3 Our professional tour guide will transfer the group to some of the most famous of Paris sights. We walk the streets of Montmartre, which was the center of artistic Europe for a time. Famous impressionist artists such as Utrillo, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Cezanne perfected their trade here. Situated at the summit of Montmartre Hill is the Basilica Sacre Coeur. Take the funicular up. The winding streets and flea markets are fun to wander and the views of Paris are incomparable. Later we stroll the many petite avenues of Pere Lachaise Cemetery. Amidst the stalwart chestnut trees are buried many very famous people from history. This evening we are treated to an optional Bateau Mouche Seine River Cruise. Day 4 We transfer the short distance on our own to the Hotel de Ville (not a hotel at all), the Picasso Museum and then the Louvre. Within this enormous museum are some of the world’s most treasured art works including the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory and Venus de Milo. One could spend days in here admiring the incredible collections of priceless paintings. Walk the Tuilieries towards the ever popular Champs Elysees. Finish off the day at the Arc de Triomphe. Day 5 Our group is free to visit Musee D'Orsay where we find masterpieces from the Classical, Romantic, Realist, Barbizon and Post-Impressionist eras. At Les Invalides, and the Church of St. Louis, is Napoleon’s massive deep red sarcophagus and nearby the great military museum. Stroll the Latin Quarter’s winding maze of narrow streets and alleyways. Visit the Luxembourg Gardens, step into the awesome Pantheon, and cross the Seine onto the Iles de la Cite where we enter the world famous Notre Dame Cathedral. A visit to the Conciergerie is an interesting look into the criminal justice system of old France. See the stairs that go nowhere and the place where Maire Antoinette was kept until her demise. Day 6 We have a free day to wander the streets of Paris. Perhaps take the train to the Palace of Versailles or shop or visit other sights of interest or walk over to the Eiffel Tower to ascend its famous girders. Day 7
Motor coach or RER transfers are made to Charles de Gaulle Airport for the
flight home.
