Depart on our flight for one of the World’s most beautiful cities, Prague, Czech Republic. Day 2 Upon arrival in Prague the group is transferred by motor coach to our hotel including a short city tour. Day 3-4 Enjoy a full-day panoramic motor coach tour that includes Hradcany Castle and Imperial Gardens, the astounding St. Vitus Cathedral, the 14th century Charles Bridge, the Golden Lane, and the Old Town Square where 27 Czech Noblemen were executed in 1621. Step into the Jewish Cemetery where 12,000 graves, slowly sinking into the earth, remind us of a legacy of past horrors. We also see the National Theater. Day 5 Depart for Vienna, Austria. Here we visit the State Opera, Parliament, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the town hall. Hero’s Square will introduce us to the Hofburg Royal Residence. Day 6 A second day in Vienna includes Schonbrunn Palace and Gardens, and St. Charle’s House. Schonbrunn Palace was originally built to rival the Palace of Versailles. It features 1400 rooms lavishly furnished in Rococo Style. We study Hundertwasser House which is an interesting "design look" into modern living. Day 7 Depart for Budapest, Hungary. Budapest is actually two cities that straddle the Danube River. Here we visit Margaret Island, which is between the two cities and exhibits 20 types of roses and the romantic ruins of a 12th century fortress. Also visit Fisherman’s Bastion, the Royal Castle, Liberty Monument, Matthias Coronation Church and Hero’s Square. Enjoy the remarkable views of the city from Gelert Hill, a 770-foot high steep rock emerging on the right bank of the Danube. Day 8 A busy day will find us motoring through Hungary to Salzburg, Austria. En route we see Lake Balaton (at 50 miles long it is the longest in central Europe) and Graz, Austria. Graz is Austria’s second largest city and is rich in culture and heritage. Day 9 Salzburg is one of Europe's most beautiful cities and birthplace to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the shadow of a fortress on one side and a mountain on the other this Baroque city is a joy to visit. We visit Berchtesgaden and the Schlobplatz, the Stiftskirche St. Peter, the Castle and more. See the eleventh century Hohensalzburg fortress and the gorgeous Mirabell Gardens. Boutiques and shops are nestled in the dozens of little alleys and passageways. Day 10 From Salzburg we continue on to Southern Germany. Visit Neuschwanstein Castle, constructed by Ludwig II in honor of Richard Wagner. Ludwig died having spent only 10 nights in his castle. This is the original model for the famous castle in Disneyland. Visit the sight of the Passion Play in Oberamergau. Continuing to Munich. Day 11-12 We include a visit to the Bavarian Motor Works Factory, Dachau, Deutsches Museum (the largest technical museum in the world), Nymphenburg Palace with its magnificent gardens, and of course a Hofbrauhaus to sample German beer. The town hall clock rings out its chimes at 11:00 every morning. We’ll learn why. Day 13 Today transfer by motor coach to the airport for our flight home.
