Day 1
We arrange your flight to Honolulu, Hawaii.
We are greeted at Honolulu International Airport by our friendly guide and
transferred to our hotel. A special treat is a Lei Greeting at the
airport.
Day 2
Enjoy continental breakfast and reception with our tour director and then
step out for our first sightseeing excursion. See the sunken Arizona
Battleship Memorial at Pearl Harbor. Step into the Punchbowl Cemetery and
Honolulu Lookout. Other sights include Chinatown, Iolani Palace, and
Kamehameha's Statue. The afternoon is free for shopping for Hawaiian
apparel and souvenirs.
Day 3-4 Our
tour director will advise us on activities that we can undertake on our own.
Visit Waikiki Beach, Kuhio Beach, or Honolulu's great zoo. On day 4 we
step out for traditional Hawaiian Feast, a Luau. Complete with Hawaiian
music and merriment it is a terrific introduction to Hawaiian culture and
hospitality.
Day 5 Mid-morning
we are transferred to the airport for the short flight to Maui, the "Valley
Island". On arrival sightseeing begins with a visit to the lush
greenery of Iao Valley and the famed Iao Needle. then to the former
whaling center of Lahaina. Free time to explore the colorful town, with
its great Banyan Tree spreading across the town park. Then we check into
our hotel, across the street from the beach in the resort area of Kihei.
Day 6 We
have a full day to explore the island on our own. We can arrange optional
excursions such as the "Road to Hana". This amazing road was
built by Chinese immigrants at the turn of the century. Cross 54 bridges
and pass myriad waterfalls on the way to the "Seven Sacred Pools", an
ancient Hawaiian sight. Alternately visit the Maui Ocean Center, a state
of the art aquarium and marine park.
Day 7 Visit
Haleakala National Park, a long dormant volcano. See rare Proteas,
flowers, and one of the rarest plants on Earth. Cinder Cones of iron rise
up from the volcano floor. Return to the hotel in the afternoon with time
to enjoy its amenities.
Day 8
This morning fly from Maui to the "Big
Island" of Hawaii. On arrival group is met and transferred to the
hotel on the Kohala Coast. Excursions that we can arrange include a full
day circle island tour that visits Volcanoes National Park, or a tour to
historical Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Park.
Day 9 and 10 We
have two full days at leisure with plenty of activities to choose from.
Walk the harbor area or take a snorkeling trip (not included in price) to one of
the nearby coral reefs?
Day 11 We
depart from Kona Airport for the flight home. Flights are likely via
Honolulu.
