California Media Tour
Motion Picture - Print -
Television - Radio
We’ll show you Hollywood back lots and
film sets – huge printing presses and live television
Day 1
We arrange your flight, Amtrak or motor coach transportation to Los Angeles
California. Transfer to our hotel and unpack for the next 6 nights (or as
chosen). We use Anaheim hotels for groups spending two or more days at Disney
and California Adventure theme parks. We use Los Angeles Hotels for groups not
visiting Disney theme parks. Groups arriving early have the option of visiting
Disneyland.
Day 2 Enjoy
breakfast and we depart from the hotel for Los Angeles. We step into the Los
Angeles Times Newspaper to see the incredible presses rolling and then step into
the editorial rooms. Board our deluxe motor coach for a tour of downtown L. A.
Watch for the Bonaventure hotel and then head for Venice Beach, Fisherman’s
Village and Marina Del Rey. Return to the hotel this evening.
Day 3
Experience the magic of a major motion picture studio. We step inside Paramount,
Warner Brothers or NBC studios. We’ll see wardrobes, props, a sound stage and
with a little luck (and depending on the time of year) a live taping of a
sitcom, pilot television show or a movie. It is possible we will see the filming
on a movie set and possibly a movie star or two. Continue on a tour of Hollywood
(originally Hollywoodland) that includes Mann’s Chinese Theater, the Hollywood
Bowl, Elegant Beverly Hills, Melrose Avenue and the ever- famous Sunset Strip.
Shop a little on Rodeo Drive. How about lunch on our own at the Hard Rock Café.
We then step inside a television station and see how news and other shows are
created and filmed. Visit a Radio Station and meet the DJ’s and return to our
hotel. What an incredible day!!
Day 4
After breakfast we depart for world famous Universal Studios. This is a magical
combination of fun and education as we see how movies are shot, stunt-men
survive the amazing feats of daring and learn a lot of the "secrets"
of the motion picture industry. This is a long and exhausting day but well worth
the effort.
Day 5
Enjoy breakfast and then step into the Magical Kingdom of Disneyland. We have
the entire day to try out the rides and exhibits that have made this the most
famous theme park anywhere.
Day 6
Today we visit a record company recording studio to learn of how
multi-track records are created. We visit the museum of Radio and Television in
Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Studio Museum on Highland Avenue Hills. Time
permitting we can visit an advertising company where billboards, commercials and
print advertising spring forth from the minds of professionals. We can include a
visit to the mammoth Getty Museum with many priceless works of art. Return to
our hotel for a swim in the pool or the group may wish to spend another
afternoon or evening in Disneyland. How about a medieval knight jousting dinner
tonight.
Day 7
We depart by motor coach or transfer to the airport for the flight home.
We can also arrange visits to one of Los
Angeles’ many beaches, Tijuana-Mexico, San Diego’s Marineland or San Diego
Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, the Queen Mary at Long Beach, Knottsberry Farm
or other. We can arrange tickets to live taping of television show but these can
run up to 6 hours in duration and no one is allowed to leave during the taping
of the show.
