Redwoods, Alcatraz and the Goldrush
San Francisco – Oakland - Redwood Forest – Pt. Reyes – Yosemite - Bodie

Day 1 Depart your gateway for Northern California! Arrive in San Francisco with transfer by motor coach to our hotel. This evening enjoy a walking tour of Chinatown. See Chinese Markets, specialty stores, temples and the fortune cookie factory.

Day 2 Tour San Francisco including world famous Alcatraz Prison which was home to Al Capone, Machine-Gun Kelly, Doc Barker and other notable characters. Visit Pier 39, the largest Chinatown anywhere outside of Asia, the Wax Museum near Fisherman’s Wharf and Seal Rock Cliff. A unique educational experience awaits us at Ripley’s "Believe It or Not" where we find a distinctive collection of scientific and natural oddities. We can also visit the California Academy of Sciences and/or the scientific wonderland called the Exploratorium with dozens of exhibits. We offer two one of two choices;

One; Visit Neiman-Marcus building that has rotunda from Paris namesake, British motor car showroom, San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park, Oakland Museum (or San Jose Historical Museum).
Two; Visit "Paramount’s Great America Amusement Park" in San Jose area. (price not included and unguided), northern California’s largest family attraction with over 100 acres of activities. Kids absolutely love this theme park. O/N San Francisco.

Day 3 Cross the Golden Gate Bridge north to Napa with short winery tour and then the Redwoods Forest at Muir Woods with steam train ride and Jack London State Historic Park. To the East are Pt. Reyes National Seashore with Vear Valley Visitor Center, Miwok Indian Village, Earthquake Trail (showing San Andreas Rift) and the Lighthouse nearby. Just North of Pt Reyes is Russian "Fort Ross", where we stop (time permitting) for a fascinating visit. Overnight nearby.

Day 4 Depart early to Yosemite with tour of the picturesque waterfall, El Capitan and Half Dome. Travel northeast to Bodie gold rush mining town, famous as the most complete ghost town in California. Overnight in comfortable tourist class hotel nearby.

Day 5 Our Deluxe motor coach delivers us back to San Francisco area with time to explore and shop.

Day 6 Transfer to San Francisco Airport for the flight (or motor coach drive) home.
