Day 1 We arrange flight from your gateway to London, England. Day 2 We arrive in London and transfer to our hotel on our own. We have time this evening to step out for our first walk in London. Day 3 Enjoy a full day to explore London on our own. We can suggest walking tours or you may choose to arrange guided tours to include St. Paul's Cathedral, Harrods, Royal Albert Hall, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. (B) Day 4 We meet our tour director and other traveling companions and depart at 8:00AM for a memorable day's sightseeing. Depart to the north until we reach Cambridge. This is one of England's oldest seats of learning. In York, England's most complete medieval cit, stand in awe in front of the great structure of York Minster, then follow our tour director through a maze of quaint streets, including the narrow gateway to the Yorkshire Dalses made famous in James Herriot's "All creatures Great and Small". (BD) Day 5 At Jedburgh, glimpse the house of Mary, Queen of Scots and see the abbey ruins before heading towards the Cheviot Hills and the English border. Pass the sight of Hadrian's Wall and learn who built the wall to protect themselves!! This afternoon we roll into historic Edinburgh. Our afternoon sightseeing with a local expert starts with an orientation drive along Princes Street and the Royal Mile, with tales of some truly intriguing characters such as the Bodysnatchers, Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde and Greyfriars Bobby. History comes alive as we tour mighty Edinburgh Castle. Can you believe there is a cemetery for dogs within its historic walls. We can arrange an optional Scottish evening with Highland dancers, bagpipers and the ceremony of the Haggis. (B) Day 6 Depart Edinburgh to Gretna Green, where the blacksmith used to wed runaway couples on the way through the history steeped Lowland Hills. Inspect a section of Hadrian's Wall and learn who built the wall for protection. We make for the tranquil Lake District, considered teh finest of England's National Parks. Stop for a visit to Wordsworth's beloved Grasmere. In Chester, the historic city on the River Dee, our walking tour includes Roman remains, black an white half-timbered houses and two-tiered arcades called the Rows". Cross the border into Wales. (BD) Day 7 Enjoy a spectacular drive over Horshoe Pass for a visit to charming Llangollen, home of an international competition for poets and minstrels. Lunchtime will find us in Stratford-Upon-Avon. We take our pictures in front of Anne Hathaway's cottage and explore the town. We depart for London arriving early evening. (B) Day 8 Depart on our own to Gatwick or Heathrow airport for the flight home or we can arrange an additional day (B) Includes hotel, transportation, 3 breakfasts, 2
