Land of the Pharoahs
Pyramids, Sphinxes and a
Nile Cruise
Cairo – Giza – Luxor-

Day 1
Overnight flight to Cairo, Egypt.
Day 2
Cairo. "Meet and Greet" at the airport with transfer to
our hotel. Balance of day is free to explore or relax.
Day 3
Our tour starts with a visit to the Egyptian Museum. Tutankhamen will display
his priceless treasures. Visit Saladin's 12th century Citadel, the Alabaster
Mosque and the Sultan Hassan Mosque. How about shopping in the frenzied Khan El
Khalili Bazaar. You'll enjoy the friendly people and warm air.
Day 4
Luxor. Stand before the mighty Pyramids of Giza and you can say you have seen
one of the "Seven Wonders of the World". Walk before the 5,000 year
old Sphinx. Current theories pose that the Sphinx may be 6,000 years old or
more. Salute the 40-foot statue of Ramses II in Memphis and Sakara's Step
Pyramid of Zoser. This evening all aboard our sleeper train, for the 400-mile
journey to lovely Luxor. Dinner is served on board ship.
Day 5 Cruise.
Upon arrival to Luxor we are transferred to our Nile Cruiser. Today we see the
most spectacular statues and monuments including the Great Temple of Luxor and
Karnak, the Holy City of Pylons and the Obelisk, Enjoy dinner aboard our Nile
Cruise Ship and talk of our great adventure.
Day 6
Cruise. Cross the Nile River to the West Bank and the Necropolis of Thebes. Walk
into the Valley of the Kings (Final resting place of 60 Pharaohs) and then the
Valley of the Queens. Also included are the Valley of the Nobles, Temple of
Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon on the Nile. Evening sailing will deliver
us to the Temple of Khnum and the famous "Lock" as we reach Edfu.
Day 7
Cruise. March into the Temple of Horus on your horse-drawn carriage. Built in
Cleopatra's time the Falcon God was hewn of Black Stone. Proceed to Kom Ombo and
the afternoon will find us cruising the Nile, sipping a cold drink and savoring
panoramic views of life on the river.
Day 8
Cruise. Breakfast is aboard the ship and then we're off to visit the
Aswan Dam, the granite quarries between the Old and New Dams and finish off the
tour at the Temple of Philae. The afternoon is spent on a "Felucca"
sailboat bound for Elephantine Island, Kitchener Botanical Gardens and the Agha
Khan Mausoleum atop a hill that commands terrific views of the Aswan vicinity.
Enjoy our last dinner as we sail north on our luxurious River Cruiser.
Day 9
Cairo. Feast on breakfast, disembark our ship, and transfer to Aswan airport for
short flight back to Cairo. Alternately we could book train to Cairo.
Day 10
Enjoy breakfast and transfer to the airport for the departure home.
