Day 1   Welcome to San José, capital of the tropical wonderland of Costa Rica .  Overnight at Best Western Irazú.

Day 2  An early morning departure will find us meandering through one of Costa Rica’s most scenic parks, Braulio Carrillo, then continue the journey heading towards the lowlands of the province of Limon,  passing through banana plantations.  A boat will be waiting for us to to sail us into the heart of amazing Tortuguero National Park.  We explore the intricate system of natural canals and waterways.  Observe the abundant flora and fauna on your way and listen to the incredible sounds of the jungle around us.  Our comfortable lodge will be our base of discovery for the next few days.  All meals included.

Day 3  Today our naturalist tour guide will to take us to explore yet more of the canals in this lush rain forest region, as well as walking through the trails of the park.  Later we visit the little village of Tortuguero.  All meals included.

Day 4  This morning awake early to enjoy the lovely surroundings of Costa Rica’s own “Amazon”.  Then head back to San Jose, first by boat, and then the journey back on land.  Breakfast and lunch included.  Lodging at Best Western Irazú.

Day 5  Today is a unique combination of volcano and colonial city.   We drive into the old capital city of Cartago in the picturesque Orosi Valley, rich in colonial history.  Visit the Basilica of Los Angeles.  Then we'll see Costa Rica's highest volcano.  At 11,000 feet it is like the lunar surface and is a fascinating visit. Return to  Best Western Irazú.  Breakfast at our hotel, snack & lunch in the tour. 

Day 6  Today’s exciting journey delivers up to the majestic Arenal Volcano, the country's most active with continuous eruptions, and includes a visit to the rejuvenating Tabacon Hot Springs, then another chance to gaze at the volcano by night.  Lodging at Best Western Irazú once more. Breakfast at hotel & dinner included during the tour.

Day 7  Today is special.  We won't soon forget our unforgettable sailing, cruising among the picturesque islands of the Gulf of Nicoya.  Listen to live tropical music until we reach the deserted "Isla Tortuga".  Once on the island enjoy the swaying palms, and the white sandy beach, swim snorkel and explore the area.  Breakfast at the hotel, snack & lunch included in the tour.  Lodging at Best Western Irazú .

Day 8  Costa Rica.  Enjoy Breakfast and Transfer to the international airport.
