Spectacular Spain
Madrid – Granada – Torremolinos – Seville – Cordoba
Central and Southern Spain have much to offer the traveler. The Imposing Alhambra Palace in Granada, the beauty and charm of Seville, the Costa del Sol and its beaches and the historic Rock of Gibraltar are all unique and fun ……… Experience the Adventure That is Spain!

Day 1  We arrange overnight flight to Madrid, Spain.

Day 2  Madrid. Arrive in Madrid and transfer to our centrally located hotel. Sample our first taste of Spain on a walking tour of the hotel vicinity. Our friendly guide will tell us about currency, customs and language.

Day 3  Granada. After our breakfast we head off for the ancient capital of Castile, Toledo. Visit the Gothic Cathedral, Church of Santo Tome and the Toledo Steel Workshop. Travel via the plains of La Mancha towards the Sierra Nevada Mountains into Moorish Granada. Granada was the last stronghold of the Moors. Here, they created an imposing monument to Moorish Culture. The Pink-Gold Palace of Alhambra is beautiful beyond belief. Together with the Generalife Gardens (summer palace of rich and powerful Caliphs) they stand as a jewel of mankind. The walls of Alhambra have seen the sly treachery of murderous plotters and heard the laughter and song of many of the Caliphs Harems. Listen to stories and enjoy a special evening of dinner and music.

Day 4  Torremolinos. Depart for the Mediterranean resort area of Torremolinos. Welcome to the winter playground of Europe-The Costa Del Sol where we have some free time to shop for souvenirs and wander the beach.

Day 5  Stroll the Promenade and enjoy the weather. People watching from a sidewalk café is fun. Why not walk up to old Mijas and shop and enjoy the spectacular views below you. It is a beautiful little village.

Day 6  Seville. This morning we depart by our motor coach past Marbella to the Rock of Gibraltar. Continue through the Sherry producing region of Andalucia to Seville. Lying on the banks of the Guadalqivir River, Seville is considered one of Europe's most Idyllic cities. Afternoon walking tour will familiarize us with our new home with time for shopping. Step out for a stroll this evening of the city famous for oranges.

Day 7  Our motor coach picks us up at our hotel and delivers us into the charms of Seville. See La Giralda, and visit the largest Gothic Cathedral anywhere. Seville's magnificent Cathedral was a hundred years in construction. You will never forget it. Later we visit nearby Italica, birthplace of two Roman Emperors (Trajan and Hadrian). Here we find an ampitheater, the baths, ruins of houses and splendid mosaics in the Museum. Return to Seville.

Day 8  Cordoba. Depart for Cordoba where we see the Aljama Mosque, built in 987 AD by the Moors. Shop nearby and visit the Jewish Quarter. Overnight in Cordoba which, like Seville, is on the Guadalquivir River.

Day 9  Madrid. Depart Cordoba for Madrid via the Spanish Meseta. Stop into Puerto Lapice where, according to tradition, Don Quixote was dubbed Knight by one of the local innkeepers. Continue to Madrid where we will enjoy a tour of the Capital City of Spain. See the Cervantes Memorial and Puerta del Sol.
